Ratepayers are not buying it

Keeping the Cayuga power plant open is not about providing electrical power to upstate New York. There is an excess of power in this region. What are needed are transmission power line upgrades to move the power to where it is needed.
This is not about jobs. Local solar panel installation companies have created more workers than the power plant will employ.
This is about bailing out the bond holders that thought they could buy a failing coal-fired power plant and get the ratepayers to buy them a shiny new gas-fired plant. The ratepayers are not buying it.
